According to Greek Mythology, Poseidon created Paxos to provide a peaceful place for him and his wife, Amphitrite.

Paxoi is a tiny group of islands in the Ionian Sea of Greece. The tiniest, in fact. Paxos is only about 10 km long from one end to the other, and 4 km wide. There are no big hotels, famous ancient ruins, amusement parks, clubs, and, for fact, there are no hords of tourists. Paxos has round 2000 inhabitants, spread over three lovely villages, Gaios, Loggos, and Lakka. In September, you will come across only a handful of British pensioners. The island has no airport, it can be reached merely by ferry.

But Paxos has everything you want for a laid-back holiday: friendly locals, good food, cristal clear water, white pebble beaches, and enough shade for the afternoon heat.

You may listen to crickets chirping in the endless olive groves while you walk past a windmill to watch an epic sunset. In this moment, you gotta fall in love with Paxos!
