Even though the drivers pay $9, there is still traffic in Midtown. The MTA bus lane has already occupied the half of the road. At night, no traffic, but the drivers still need to pay $2.25. This is absolutely unfair.

This entire thing was nothing but a money grab and a tax to fund the MTA throwing your money in the trash.

New Yorkers know where the "congestion" is in Manhattan. This was a new tax/ toll on basically ALL east river crossings ( yes there's the one level of the 59th that could avoid it) And of course another toll on the Hudson side.

They weren't worried about "congestion" on first or 2nd ave around 59th street bridge. They weren't worried about it down near Brooklyn and Manhattan bridge etc. It's all a money grab.


The real congestion is really were actual New Yorkers avoid like the plague. Either on foot or driving.. 5th over to like 9th in midtown.

Refund the drivers $270 for each month the toll was operational and bring in the crushers for the cameras and equipment so this scam never happens again.
