Undervolt your GTX 1060 for more FPS! - Tutorial

Undervolting is really popular for the RTX 3000 series, but it's actually a really good option for GTX cards too! If you do it properly, you’re gonna lose virtually 0 performance or even get an increase, while dramatically reducing heat and power consumption. Today we're featuring a GTX 1060 from Gigabyte!

My card was at around 80-81 degrees under load, undervolted it doesn't rise above 71-72. Performance is pretty much the same but the lower temps are nice, appreciate it.

Big W man. Easy to follow tutorial. Reduced temps from 79-80 with like 6 degrees and around +400mhz stable. Also Im glad you used this MSI skin it made it alot easier to understand and use

Card will lower its own clock the higher the temp goes. So best solution for more performance is to improve the cards cooling and experiment with how much you can lower the voltage before card starts lowering the clocks. I have 2 X 120mm fans on gtx 1060 and max temps are around 60. Doesn't look fancy, but temperature is great.

Replacing the paste and pads helps alot to start, with a good fan curve it shouldnt go above 67c even overclocked ;)

Awesome! I'm using 1060 6gb, playing AC Valhalla on medium settings, from 83C it went down to 70-73C. Haven't tried the memory clock adjust part though.

For some reason, my Roblox experienced black screen and hanging when I had the undervolt on. The black screen and hanging problem was gone when I reset the undervolt. But what's weird is that I have no problems for other games with the undervolt on. Any thoughts on why it happened?
