Honestly I have no idea what Lips lifegoal was in the later seasons. It was like he was running around the city only trying to help people so he had an excuse not to go back to colledge and really fixing his problems. And instead of trying to help his family, he cared more for people he had met the day before and neither had the responsibility to help them, nor had he any buisness to do so.

Respect to the black dude, he saw it and knew it, no child needs to be around people like that and this show depicted it perfectly

I think i would have a anger induced seizure if i were to watch this show all the way through without skipping through debbie’s BS

In all honesty, it wasn't Fiona's performance, it was Debbie's, she refused to co-operate with sleeping arrangements like a spoilt brat, she was told to watch the kids and they were then left unattended, Fiona is out here trying to do all this work as well by herself while Lip is trying to look good. This is Debbie's fault and everything is always Debbie's fault

Lip's character arc was interesting; written as brilliant mathematician, like his father, doomed to alcohol abuse and self-sabotage, desperately yearning to be responsible adult caring for children (opposite of his father), but without the skills to do so. All of the siblings were doomed by genetics and household environment to develop mental illnesses. The plot lines were often cartoonish; but following the kids over years growing to be adults with variety of dysfunctions, products of their childhood. That theme is realistic and well-acted. People who grew up with safety and functional reliable parents are lucky AF.

Fiona did so much for them and at times when she was at her lowest, her siblings were awful to her. Yeah they were there for her at times but not always. Lip getting mad at Fiona in this scene was stupid and made no sense. Debbie was responsible for the kids and he blames Fiona for something she had no control of??? Some of these characters behaviors makes no sense at all.

this is a good learning lesson. Now that poor girl has to suffer because bro rushed into a life changing decision unprepared.

After this clip Lip lashes out at Fiona or letting the guy inside and pretty much tries to blame his lack of responsibility on her drinking. Fiona argued back they it wasn’t her fault because DCFS came unannounced while she was asleep and she even told Lip had she known they were coming she would have had the house clean. Something she didn’t have to offer in the slightest but he still blames it all on her and said the old Fiona would have taken care of it. Lip and Debbie both are at a tie when it comes towards being the most frustrating Gallaghers fr. I get Lip wanted to help that child and it’s good he wanted to help her but he had no business doing so. The house is full enough as it is. It’s not even his house to begin with. Frank is a mess that complicates all their lives. Fiona is hurting and just wants peace and Debbie well we all know how she is. He really brought this on himself he really does stand in his own way a lot and instead of taking accountability for it he blames it on everyone else. Yeah frank messed them all up but damn for someone supposed to be a genius he really does dumb things

Idk what Lip was thinking trying to get her in the house he KNEW wasn't safe. Like beaides the bed situation he really didn't do anything at all. Not even try to get his own place and I doubt the caseworker would be okay with the face of so many people living their already.

Lip was filling a hole by trying to help anyone outside his family.

As someone whose dealt with DCFS growing up in Chicago I can tell you first hand they do not care this much😂 the amount of times they came over and never inspected my stepmother who was abusive in every way especially physically is insane to me today. Not once did they or Aunt Martha’s ever give me the help I needed even when dozens of people and families would report my stepmom and the abuse she would cause.

Useless ass organization.

Why was he bringing another child into that home from what ive seen of this show they barely have money for themselves

Lips heart was in the right place but the children that already lived there weren’t even particularly safe.

Honestly i stopped watching after debbie got pregnant but i still think Fiona's downfall was brought on by them. With all the work she did to raise them and give them the best she could only for them to not appreciate any of it was so beyond effed up. Between lip quitting school and debbie getting pregnant not to mention them being part of the reason she couldn't keep a job no matter how good the job was and not to mention she would self sabotage because she didnt think she deserved happiness or anything good. Im glad ian was the one who told her to leave without telling anyone where she was going cause they probably wouldve come begging for shit at one point or another. Its like they forget that fiona gave up her entire life just to raise them even going so far as to becoming their legal guardian so monica couldn't split them up and fuck up liam by eventually abandoning him with her trucker girlfriend. Everyone was capable of taking care of themselves yet most of them relied on fiona to do it. It really seems like carl, liam, and ian were the only ones to not solely rely on fiona and tried to make something of themselves.

I'm sorry Debbie was by far the worst character but you can't expect a woman with a cold to want to bunk with a random little girl just cause her brother wants to save some little girl off the street?? They all told her to figure it out with Franny when she made that choice & she was 15. Lip is much older here, he can figure shit out wit Xan on his own

Bro why are yall acting like that house is a good place to foster anyone? They would've been rejected without the hole in the floor and without the bed issue. That is not a place for her to be. That house is stuffed to the brim he has no support system to raise a kid. Like he didn't think this thru. And Debbie sucks but not for this she has a child in her room to stuff another child stuffed in that small ass room is not okay like she's an "adult" at this point she shouldnt have to share a room cause lip wants to bring even more people into the crowded house

If I was in that family would’ve left at age 13 honestly.
Everyone stopped giving a fuck about each other after Fiona left.

Lip has no right to blame fiona for this. Especially since he didn’t even bother to tell her He wanted to bring another kid into the house. I know Fiona was MiA a lot of this time, but it’s legally her house. she should be notified for something like that.

Fiona was the one who was there for them growing up so I understand why she’s the one everyone blames, but obviously Fiona wasn’t in a good place and if Debbie was supposed to be in charge, where was Debbie?… more importantly wouldn’t def do an inspection before placing the child anyway….
