Kalinka is a Russian song by Ivan Larionov, written in 1860 and first performed as part of a theatrical show by Saratov. Since it was written, Kalinka has turned into a staple folk tune for choral groups and is cherished in the Russian repertory. Kalinka always makes me imagine a pair of pianists get invited to perform a duet, but one wants to do gentle parlor music and one REALLY wants to do a Slavic drinking song, and they just get more forceful and angry at each other til the finale.

Just learned this and it honestly was the most fun I've ever had playing a piano piece. It is super challenging but all ti takes is some practice :)
