The more I listen to teachings like this, the more I realize peace doesn't come from outside, but from letting go within

I'm chiming in after two weeks ... Always wake up very early these days, at sixty nine years old ... I love these peaceful early morning hours. To me, they are the best part of the day, and I love going to bed early, when my teenaged dog goes to bed, after we've both had a wonderful, busy day. Thank God for this new (four months now) hopefully long term way to live.

Each time I listen to reflections like these, I understand more clearly that true peace doesn't come from circumstances, but from the heart letting go of what weighs it down.

I am 69. I frequently awaken in the night. It has never occurred to me that this is a problem. After spending most of my life with a need to do something during almost every waking moment, I relish the opportunity to simply enjoy the time when I lay awake and need to do nothing. It is peace and contentment. It is my reward for a life well lived, that was filled with efforts to make the world a better place and help others to find happiness. Thank you, God.

I now have time to take naps, and I frequently do, but I NEVER fall asleep during the day. I just enjoy feeling enfolded in gratitude, both coming and going.

It's such a peaceful thought to know that waking in the stillness of the night can be a shared experience among us. Embracing these quiet moments might just allow us to reconnect with our thoughts and find comfort in the transition of our sleep.

I have started actively listening to serious classical music during the small hours, not as an attempt to lull myself back to sleep, but to extend a neglected part of my education. I sometimes listen for u to an hour and a half, until I feel ready to sleep again, but always complete the piece I'm listening to before I switch off. I have found, as you suggest, that employing the time usefully, rather than viewing it as a frustrating burden, has actually improved my sleep quality - I still rise early and fully refreshed.

This reflects a shift in perspective: understanding that waking up at night is a natural part of aging, and embracing it with mindfulness, rather than seeing it as a problem.

Thank you Speaker.❤🙏🙏🙏. If my car won't start, kicking it won't get it started again. So my body says hello there. Something has changed. Connecting with Awareness and compassion. With the goal of recognizing inner peace.
