I have never heard that Iron Maiden song you are talking about. And I first heard papa roach before I ever listened to Iron Maiden.

I would say it’s a coincidence. There are so many riffs that sound alike and you don’t even realize it.

Back when I was 19 or 20 we made up a song in dropped D tuning and we were super excited and it turned out sound like a Helmet song.

It was a total coincidence

Yeah not a rip off ..I mean it could be a megadeatj riff as well..jump in the fire Metallica has a similar style to where simple riff with changing root notes or bas notes ..so I don't think so either

Yeah deffo sound slightly different but basic note selection

It would also be a rip off of "starry eyes" by Motley Crue. Listen to the half way point of that and see how similar it is.

No it's just similar, there's a lot of that in music, and its not always everybody ripping everybody off. I think it's just a coincidence that the guitar riff Is similar. But it doesn't have the same vibe at all as Iron Maiden and vice versa

as for the last resort rip off it is much closer, exact actually, to an old christian metal band called tourniquet’s song arc of suffering. listen at 3:12 of that song. it’s not just a stolen riff, it’s the entire song.

It can be, but let's have in mind that rock guitar music is sometimes so repetitive & derivative & at some point, the majority of rock guitar players share more or less the same influences & listen to same bands🤷🏻‍♂️
