I think this isn't the same story, but it reminds me of a story of a girl and her mom on a plane and the plane crashes and it's so extreme that the seat they are sitting in flung out of the plane. Her mom didn't wear her seatbelt and died. Luckily, she was in the middle seat and the other two seats act like a parachute slowly landing to the ground. The rest is history.
