Logitech / Saitek Flight Radio fitted to Honeycomb Alpha yoke

Really not happy with the quality of the displays used, varying brightness should not be present these days!
Sadly the camera doesn't show it as it is in real life.

The video should have been titled "Logitech / Saitek Flight Radio Brightness Obsession". I mean you spent way more time talking about the brightness than the Yolk/radio combination.

My Logitech radio panel has started to lose some of the LED's on certain digits with only half of the number being displayed. I have 30 year old LED radio clocks still going strong.

Add it to top of Throttles so you can reach it better?

The issue with the dimming is a normal thing. The reason for that is because of more electricity is used for the one on the right. So when the digit is a 1, it uses less power than a 3. Possibly because they are interconnected. It's just like when you add LEDs in a serial order. They will dimm the more you add.

I think you are making a little much out of the display brightness changing a tad? You should retitle this video to I complain about nothing but don’t really show you anything?

I notice some slight blemishes on the upper stand-by display just as I noticed them on my panel. On closer examination, I found there to be a polythene cover on each screen with some sort of dot pattern. As soon as I removed them, plus the one on my multi-panel the quality was vastly improved.

couple questions. hard to tell by the video but it looks like quite a bit of hang-over, is it possible to mount it to where the front LCD panel is even with the Honeycomb? i realize the bolt holes wont line up but perhaps you could make a modification but i think it would look a lot better if the two were even-faced (or is that not possible?) and as far as the LED's, that might be a deal killer for me, I am really, really disappointed that the LEDs change brightness, that's just a total bummer. Did you figure out any solutions (more USB power, etc.? ) or is this just a quality issue knowing these units are produced in China very cheaply? Another question for you, the left multi-function switch seems to be hard to turn from watching you adjust it, does it feel as cheap as it looks ? Thanks so much for the video, you may have saved me about 175 bucks usd (with shipping and tax) as I will maybe look elsewhere for one that is of much better quality. If you have found one that is of much better quality, let me know....also, where did you come up with the bolts that hold the unit onto the Alpha honeycomb? thanks a ton for the time you spent to post this By the way, your camera is indeed showing the LCD defects (poor quality). I wonder if these LCD units could be changed out for much higher quality blue LED color ones or another color or RED but just extremely higher quality. It's just something I may not be able to overcome as you said, every time you look at it it's going to make me want to get into a row with the quality control at Logitech.

Well haven't you noticed same for TV's, monitors, laptops, phones ? It is pretty normal behaviour as electronics has no 100% accuracy due to different accuracy of component (electrical), so it is almost impossible to have always everything lit exactly the same. Especially at the kit that costs less than a $100... Perhaps ~ $500-$1000 or even more (and only if that would be one of the requirements).

If anyone has a template to know where exactly to drill the new holes in the Saitek Panel mount (bottom) so that it's exactly flush with the front of the Honeycomb. It will require six drill holes and they will need to be moved a bit forward on the frame (clamp in UK nomenclature). If someone has a template that I could print out that i could put right on the bottom of the saitek panel and then drill the holes using that. It will require some exact measuements.

do the screws just come out of the top of the honeycomb yoke by turning them or is there a nut holding them in ? I unscrewed the first screw on mine and it almost came out all the way but it seems like something is holding onto the last thread.
