I too remembered that this was theme to square one hosted by joe brown, , i was 7 when that came out. And i have had this tune in my head on and off and now i discover this was by landscape! Lol richard burgess has a prolific list of credits as big as the earth of all the many many things hes done in his life and some so surprising he helped invent the simmons drums and helped to get the fairlight promoted and even programmed it for visage's first album and produced many people etc etc.

They were a great fusion band, but i don't agree that they sold out, they obviously just got more interested in the futurist and new romantic and technology progressive movements of the times.
I think they helped to change how people would and could, , make music, , to me its a good thing. Theyre recordings are very different sounding today as they were then, but many still sound fresh and a real interesting alternative to the norm.

Any how yes the quiz show ran until 1984 as i remember, it started in a teatime slot before the news, then from around 82 it went afternoon, it was a strange and very busy and loud humorous type of show, joe brown left and was replaced by a dark haired fella eventually, i can't find a thing online about this tv show that this tune was the theme for.
But its great to know that someone cared enough to share this great record with us good stuff great memories and landscape are a good quirky band to listen to, , suzy

Saw them live in a pub in Hammersmith in 1978 great stuff

I remember they use this music as a theme of series 1 of TV game show called Square One for Granada TV, and first broadcast in 1980.

Why no live videos....they where an amazing fusion band before they sold out to RCA....
