Videos don't just get uploaded, they also get deleted. There are multiple reasons for deletion of content: creator's decision, copyright ban, YouTube policy violation etc. So I think the real number might be between 10B and 20B.

Hi there's another algorithm that can estimate how many videos are there.



Assume that the total video number is N and the total possible video code number is M(shown at the end of the videos' websites, determined by the types of digits and how many digits there are, such as this video's 2sWFJQFpghw).



If we randomly generate n video codes and get to the corresponding website, and find that there are m websites that really has videos, while there are no real videos that correspond to the other (n-m) random video codes we generate, then we can estimate that there are M*m/n videos on youtube.

The magic is that, from our experiment we can estimate that the possibility we get into a website and find there is a video is probably m/n, and there are M websites we can get in.
