I just moved into an apartment by myself. This is the first time I lived alone. I'm nearing 40 and divorced. The emptiness seems to echo my thoughts. I'm glad i saw this video. It makes me feel better knowing that there are ways to overcome this feeling. Thanks Trey!

Thank you Trey for your insight, I really needed to hear what you said about expressing yourself through being creative and not worrying about it being any good.
My best friend passed away recently and I've been wanting to express my grief through writing music but I can't seem to get anything done because I've been putting pressure on myself to come up with something that is good but if I'm just writing for myself because I need an outlet, who cares if it sucks as long as it helps me deal with what I'm going through.
I know it's something that should be obvious and everyone should probably know already but sometimes hearing someone else say it is what helps it click into place.

I feel you I’ve been alone for about 3 months now I wrote and album and just keep trying to keep positive but it’s hard. It’s very depressing especially when your 37 years old and all your old friends have moved to different states and your and only child. This year also hasn’t been good to me but I’m trying my best to keep positive

That was unexpectedly honest and open. As I read the comments I’m also kinda surprised how many folks are in the same boat.

Moving into a new phase in life can be difficult, if you choose for it to be that. But it seems with the making of the new room you have chosen to fill the void with more things that make Trey, well Trey.

I saw someone say “you are at the get married have kids part of life”…disagree…unless that is what you want. But if you’re not there yet, not a single fucking person is holding a gun to your head telling you to make a decision. Live your life on Trey’s terms and not some arbitrary time table.

I’m 44 I LOVE my career, the podcasts I have, the band folks I’m able to create with, my friends and the person I have evolved into the last few years. My GF and I are very happy, yet we still keep our own living spaces just because sometimes it’s healthier that way. But who knows what’s next for us.

I’m happy you’re on a new journey Trey. I hope you can face it with the same energy you entertain and educate us with. Keep moving forward dude. Much love 💜
