"America is strongest when we engage with the world," Secretary Yellen said as she accepted the Atlantic Council's 2023 Global Citizen Award in New York. "We witnessed the determination of the Ukrainian people as they fought for their lives (...) and we knew we had to support them with a decisive response," she added.
Held annually during the United Nations General Assembly week in New York, the Atlantic Council Global Citizen Awards underscores our organization’s significantly expanded global mission and salutes a vast array of global citizens, ranging from heads of state to world-renowned artists.
