I remember the practice of newspapers displayed outside tube stations and you paid for them by leaving your money on a dish left next to them. In July this year I visited a farm shop on the Isle of Wight. All the vegetables, fruit and dairy products were on display, you helped yourself then noted what you had bought on a pad, there was a calculator to add up the cost and you either left cash or paid by card on a pad. They did not need staff in attendance as it was all based on honesty. That's the sort of community you can be proud of.
