By trading the #8 pick (and Devonte Graham), the Spurs got a 2030 pick swap, a 2031 first round pick, created room to sign Chris Paul and trade nothing for Harrison Barnes. They significant improved next season’s roster without giving up a future first round pick.

He said the Spurs werent looking for a defender. The Spurs are always looking for a defender.

Rob is a score first guard, and deserves to be the focal point of an offense. We already have a focal point of an offense, and need to build around him

If you understand the new CBA and how difficult it is going to be to maintain expensive talent on rosters, you'll understand why having cheap young talent coming in the future is so important. Wemby will be 27 when the pick conveys. That's still younger than Michael Jordan or LeBron James were when they won their first championships. Plus the pick can be used at any point in a mega trade. This was in an incredibly smart move by the Spurs

Rob Dillingham gonna be a stud this season or next. Just might need some time to grow but he got the aura of a superstar and he’s humble. I see greatness in him

Spurs are playing the long game. Better to draft a high profile guard like castle and develop him while also drafting Nunez who they can attempt to develop without any expectations. Minnesota is in win now mode so it made sense for them to draft Rob.

A swap and a first for 30 and 31 are insanely valuable picks. This is actually insane value for the number 8 pick in a weak class.

Spurs didn’t trade him! They traded the 8th pick and Minnesota chose Rob. 🤦🏻‍♂️

The best trade of the offseason for the Spurs. So frightened when he got drafted, and relieved much better when traded.

This is a person who doesn't understand how smart the spurs are as an organization...

You all know the players that the Spurs have currently right? Then let me add a little spice to those young players. The Spurs still have 14 1st round picks and around 40 second-round picks through 2031 and then add the current roster. 😁

Who knows how good they'll be then. Plus 2 future firsts for 1 first in one of the most underwhelming drafts ever??? Idk seems like a fleece to me

They can trade said draft picks to get an all-star alongside wemby

Spurs passing on talent is music to my ears as a long Laker fan.

Spurs look at the long road plus using those picks for trades helps them now
