What Is the Fujifilm GFX 50S II Medium Format Good For ? Pt 2

After using the Fujifilm X series of cameras for years, I try their medium format line. Fujifilm Australia sent me a GFX 50S II body, with the 35-70mm short zoom, the 50mm prime, and the 110mm f2 prime.
In this second video, I try it all out with nature, landscape, portraits and shake & bake video.

I purchased this camera and the 50mm and you are right, the portraits are unmatched! Gonna be super honest though, I find myself using the Nikon z7 and my d750 way more frequently because I can shoot faster. The 50s II is really making my boudoir clients hand me all their money though. ;)

Christabel looks just incredible! That GF 110mm F2 is on my wish list. The GF 35-70mm is the one I use for street photography on my GFX 100II, it makes the whole system super compact, almost the same as using my Nikon Z9 with a 35mm. I'm used to and prefer bigger camera bodies, so this system does not face me at all, on the contrary, I love it! I know you've got the GFX 50R, but haven't seen that video yet, I'm going in order! Can't wait to see what you get up to next! Cheers, Ray.

Just picked up a secondhand 50R for portraits and landscapes. Only using adapted old M42 lenses and the results are remarkable. A fast 50 becomes a VERY fast 50 on a GFX!!

Hi Greg, I bought my 50r used. I think I got an absolute bargain when I compared the price of these older GFX cameras with comparable full-frame DSLRs and mirrorless bodies. I use it with my Pentax primes and some Nikon F mount zooms, a 75-210mm and a 70- 300mm I got for nothing; the council was throwing them down the dump, go figure. I have one GF lens, which I bought used the GF45mm, a simply wonderful lens. Honestly, I don't think high-end full-frame lenses are much cheaper than GFX lenses, but I'm probably biased now.

I just watched and commented on your “cult camera” video. Having spent time with the 50s ii and Fujifilm glass, do you find much of a drop in image quality when using your 50r and vintage lenses? I don’t have any Fuji glass for my 50r and had thought about selling it, but I do wonder if I’m not really seeing the full potential of the camera. My go-to lens with it is a Canon fit Samyang 24mm tilt-shift. I also have some Mamiya 645 glass which works well on it, but is not really wide enough for what I do. I know; “first world problem”!😂
