I fell you and your family are very relatable. Trying and sharing new experiences and experiments. Probably just like what most of your viewers are doing. This spring before anything was budding I cut back my mulberry and blackberry. I stuck the trimmings directly in the ground near them, since they were doing well there. Most took and have leaves the short fat peaches did best. Just wanted to share that little info
