The demonization of non believers has always been one of my main reasons for escaping Islam. Thank you for speaking so eloquently about this brother.

I like how you said it doesn't disprove Islam, because Islam was never proven true. I'll have to use that from now on.

One thing I cannot ever get over, is the fact that pretty much every single ex Muslim HAS TO conceal their identity & in your case you have to cover half of your face! Or they have to fake they still believe :( Horrible horrible religion Islam is.

As an former Christian. I heared a lot of talks that people just wanted to sin so they left the religion. So there was no sincere people who left the religion, but it was always with an alterior motive... They never applied the some logic to themselves, since staying with the religion gives them a lot of benefits, one is a social group to belong to, another unity in the family and so on

9:40 Since you mentioned certain dictators: I think it's also important to keep in mind that the dictators are seen as evil because of all the innocent people they had murdered. But if we're taking a very infamous 20th century example we'd see pretty much all the people who were killed on orders of these dictators, and the people who executed these orders, and the victims who were tortured and murdered standing side by side in hell, recieving the exact same punishment as the people who persecuted them.
"If my religion isn't true then these dictators got away with it."
And if their religion is true then their God will punish all the innocent victims even further.

I haven't watched the video but I just wanted to say that you are a very brave, kind, confident man beacuse you don't let other ex-muslim youtubers dectate how you should act, what you should wear how you should speak, etc....

they call you a coward but you stand your ground and you don't resort to insults and childesh acts, coudus to you my brother.

Yeah, understanding someone can genuinely disbelieve in Islam without being a bad person or being dishonest, was the largest crack in my faith back then, cause now I could not rationalize punishment on the basis of belief, or eternal hell, with the idea of a good and merciful God, making things this way.

5:19 I was raised atheist and when I was a teenager, I actually tried to believe in God for a week. It didn't work.

This is a compelling insight! Insights like these can be the last straw that causes the whole structure of beliefs to crumble.
9:28 “The concept of a kafir is an essential pillar on which the concept of a fair hell is built. When god sends murderers to hell, it’s easy to believe that that is fair, though it’s still debatable. When god sends dictators and tyrants to hell, that is also easy to stomach. But when god sends innocent disbelievers to hell, that’s a bit distressing, unless you dehumanize them and associate a bunch of negative attributes to their disbelief and think that they are responsible for their own demise.”

3:07 “They say that the people who leave (islam or another high control group) or point out the flaws in your group are doing so because of ulterior motives or flaws in their character, rather than a difference in opinion or not being convinced of your claims.” I’m sorry, but I can’t help thinking about certain ex-muslims accusing you of virtue signalling, jealousy, being overly sensitive, being childish … because you simply challenge their ideas.

Bro you almost f***ed me over;

My sis almost caught my atheist identity buble via this video, but I somehow was able to mannage them belive the narrative that i was 'curious about islam, religion and the abrahemic fathes' they ended up beliving me, as I was quite the practicer myself, back in the days.

Funny how Islam 'supports' questioning, but those who do, end up being frowned upon by the society, possibly beaten in sadly not so rare cases, while they fail to extinguish theit curiosity only to realise eventually that the answer that they are looking for is a painfu but comforting, bitter-sweet truth. (at least it was the case for me...)

There is a proverb in my native toung, that gose like : ''The night gets the most deepest and darkest just before the break of dawn.''

Awesome deep dive into all of the "types" of unbelievers. I think you also hit on something atheists rarely talk about - human psychology in relation to holy scripture. We usually hear how sciences - astronomy, geology, and biology show that these people could not have received any revelation from a perfect God, but I think any modern psychology textbook could also prove their religious views are worth leaving behind. Honest skepticism is greater for human happiness than ignorant faith.

Yeah this what made me stop reading the quran as an atheist. Reading was making me feel there is nothing there to discuss because people who take everything at face value in the book would'nt believe me anyway
