For the first time in 25 years, extreme wealth and extreme poverty have increased simultaneously. In its latest inequality report, Oxfam found that the top 1% accrued nearly twice as much new wealth as the rest of the world combined. It said a wealth tax of even 5% on the super rich each year could potentially lift two billion people out of poverty. Across the world, 820 million people do not have enough food. Oxfam has called on world leaders to significantly increase taxes on the ultra wealthy and to impose "billionaire-busting policies".

It’s about the pricing for the labor and the power of policy making. Usually the rich take the power or influences for making the policy. This should be changed.

I earned 2100 Australian dollars as a worker. After tax I got only 1490 dollars . I am a homeless in Australia. I work hard but the rich corporations got all. While many restaurants, take away do their business in cash. One reported 27000 dollars a year of income yet has never a red flag to Australia tax office. The guy with his wife kept almost 1 million dollars cash at home after about 15 years. One day their house was burgled and one of the money safe was found and took away by the burglars. They reported to police by saying they lost 5 thousand dollars. There are gold nugget in it and cash as well. That Asian family got welfare payment for their children and family tax benefits while a homeless like me have to work like hell to pay tax and fund the rich. That’s why cashless society is a must if you want to close the gap between rich and poor. The government will get enough tax to help the poor. This is one simple example the poor who work like hell is funding the rich. Something has been very wrong with capitalism in democracy

The Great Asia has been saying that 90% of the inflation in Singapore is generated domestically. You can catch the ball?

You change the government with new politicians that have a sound humanitarian experience in their previous employment, and you will have a government that will not only think for the people, but find a holistic solution to poverty.

The goodness of humanity is to help those who are less fortunate, needy and poor. For GOD is not only interested in how we lead our lives, He is also interested in knowing how we treat others.

Singapore is just going to be another America in a very pretty short time if the current policy continues. There is no rocket science. The reason why it has not is because asia people tend to save. With these artificial inflation such as GST/ ERP and COE, once the saving depletes the effect will come.

Oxfam should know that the rich become rich through taxation of the majority poor.

(URDU) Imran Khan should be considered as a bridge between Pakistan and Afghanistan, not Fazlur Rehman who said that he will heat the earth so much that the wings of butterflies will burn. They eliminated 25 Taliban like chess pieces so Mr. Harry ask ISI about this statement

And people ignore the fact that people with money have to put in effort to actually earn it. Taking money from others seems like an easier solution than trying to figure out how to earn it themselves. The problem with 'tax the rich' and 'income equality ' ideology exists is unfortunately due to representation, where majority would categorically belong to the camp where they believe they don't have enough and deserve more at the expense of people perceived wealthier than themselves. In that case why not try to earn more money then instead of relying on wealth redistribution?

Singapore govt is lagging behind closing the gap of salary disparity, esp working class n the standard of living, put aside business owner, the root true is our 75% working salary still hv a large runway to increase to close the gap between the 84 mp, 5 mayor.. The naked truth is the public working salary is far behind these above 84 plus 5..the correct move is to balance n increase across the public of 75% pmet to at last 5k per month n above else we are always behind the mayor of 660, 000 annually, can see the disparity why they deserve such high pay??? 🤔 🤔 Do we question them???
