Beef Rendang was my first Curry Love, or at least a version of it. Although this dish originates from Indonesia, my first experience with Beef Rendang was actually in a Thai restaurant around the corner from where I grew up in Belgium. It was not called Beef Rendang there, but for all intents and purposes it was Beef Rendang, at least the way I remember it. If you are a fan of curry and you are a fan of slow cooked meat, this is the dish for you. best served with some flavoursome coconut rice.

Amazing recipe and dish, Christian! Beautiful, this is really good. I make some Seychelles curries, they are quite close to this Indonesian rendang. I am a curry fan: Indian, Thai, Japanese, African, Malay etc. I agree, for me and my gf I keep at lot of the fat on the meat. Also lamb is great. Tamarind is so good in cooking.
