How To Remove Groove Music From Windows 10

Windows 10 by default, ships with certain apps that comes installed automatically. While some may prefer this setting many would not. For instance, in Windows 10 some playlists open with Groove Music even if you want it to open with Windows Media Player. Groove Music app in Windows 10 is brand new app that allows you to play your music collection and lets you make and listen to playlists.

Commands Shown:
Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers
zunemusic
remove-AppxPackage

Normally, you would remove this default app or disable it completely by simply performing a 2-click operation i.e. right-click an app in the All Apps list in the Start menu and select “Uninstall”. Sadly, Microsoft doesn’t allow you to easily uninstall this built-in Groove Music app in the usual way.

As the last option, you can resort to using a Windows Powershell cmdlet to have this application completely removed.

This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops,and tablets running the Windows 10 operating system (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba,Lenovo, and Samsung).

For those who are stuck with the app groove music, all you have to do is go into your music folder, click on a song once, then beside the properties icon you'll see the groove icon, click on the down arrow beside the groove icon and select "choose another app'.
From there just click the box 'always use this app' and then click on windows player, and everything will alternate there.
If you're having trouble with videos, just do the same thing, and its all good.

Solution Secondary. One download and install advanced systemcare. Two iobit uninstaller. Three winmanager with iobit uninstall. Four windows apps, search music. Five groove music will appear. Six, click on trash can icon, then unistall groove music and delete residual files. Seven reset PC. Eight start groove music app and bam groove music works again, worked fine on my after that. I hope it works for everyone that has these problems with errors.

the term "Get" is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet.... it shows basically object not found however it's still on the apps list and un-installed is disabled ...

Hi, I did everything on your video, however when i go to app and features and scroll to see if Groove was removed, I still see the app on that list. There is button with an option to uninstall groove, does this means the app was not removed? I restart the laptop after I followed instructions on your video. Thanks
