as an ex-devout muslim and the first in my family to convert and follow christ i can attest (as can others other muslims) that groups like isis are considered "perfect" muslims as they follow the text word for word. It took me a bit to realize myself but glory be to God the holy spirit showed me the truth.
Being in a strictly muslim country where they follow sharia, converting is considered "shirk" and is punishable by death.
