I think what people fail to miss is that in in the area of Canada where Dante’s is from, it is incredibly multi-cultural. Seeing somebody born and raised in Canada is very few and far between these days. There’s a huge surge of people who’ve immigrated from India, China, the Philippines, or many other countries.

The first time I went to Japan from Canada I was also very astonished at the lack of different cultures living there. Everywhere I visited, unless it was a tourist attraction, everyone was Japanese.

It’s a very different sight when you aren’t used to it.

It’s because I’m a lot of counties like South Korea and Japan the families kind of frown upon the idea of dating outside their race. Not saying all do and you see more Japanese and other races dating but in the original county it’s mostly just the same race getting married and having kids.

I think what hes tryna say is as an american we see ppl from literally all walks of life and we dont realize how thats still a pretty recent development in the grand scheme of things… so when going to a place like Korea you REALLY notice the monoculture, even tho we all know abt it, its another thing to actually see it

Being from canada, we have a lot of ethnic diversity. People immigrate from all over the world. I could see the lack of ethnic diversity in korea being a shock if you're from somewhere more diverse.
