Canvas mode can be triggered automatically even when you don’t want it. I didn’t know it existed and then one day the canvas just opened while I was working on a book. It has its limitations but your tutorial was helpful. I kept losing what was on the canvas because it kept getting overwritten. Now I know how to look at the history.

If you are writing a book, be advised that it can only handle writing small amounts of information at a time like two pages. I gave it 12 pages of dialog and action and told it to use my dialog but write prose based on the actions. It decided to rewrite my dialog no matter how many times I said not to.
