1978 49cc Puch Maxi sport moped top end rebuild. Video re-uploaded from my other channel after adding narration
To remove
1. Remove the 2 exhaust nuts on the bottom of the cylinder
2. Remove the nut and bolt holding the exhaust pipe to the frame and remove the exhaust pipe
3. Loosen the bolt on the carb where it connects to the intake elbow
4. Remove the 2 nuts on the carb intake elbow on the top of the cylinder and remove the carb from the cylinder
5. Remove the spark plug
6. Remove the 4 cylinder head nuts and remove the cylinder head
7. Remove the cylinder
9. Twist and pull the G clip that holds the piston pin
10. With a pin punch GENTLY tap the piston pin out of the piston

To Re-install
1. Install one of the G clips into the groove in the piston by pushing and twisting
2. Install the piston ring onto the piston, make note where the raised pin is
3. Apply oil and install the piston pin bearing
4. Apply oil to the piston pin and insert into the side of the piston that does not have the G clip
5. Position the piston with the arrow on the head pointing up
6. Press the piston pin through the bearing and into the installed G clip
7. Install the other G clip
8. Install a new cylinder gasket
9. Position the piston ring so the cut out part is aligned with the raised pin
10. Apply oil to the piston ring and the inside of the cylinder
11. Install the cylinder with the stamped number at the top
(Aluminum cylinders will have 1,2,3,4 or 5 stamped on them. Hi-torque cylinders will have 11,22 or 33. Magnum cylinders will have 1 or 2 stamped in them. This number designates the diameter of the cylinder and which size piston should be used.)
12. Install new head gasket
13. Install the 4 cylinder head nuts
14. Torque the 4 cylinder head nuts to 7 ft/lb
15. Install new intake gasket
16. Install intake elbow and 2 nuts
17. Tighten elbow to carb bolt
18. Install but don't tighten the exhaust pipe frame nut and bolt
19. Install new exhaust gasket and install the 2 nuts
20. Tighten exhaust frame nut and bolt
21. Install the spark plug and spark plug lead
22. Install the side covers

what size wrench would i need to completely remove the carb as I am replacing mine with a new one

Do I need to wear flipflops to do this or will boots work? ;-] jk
