A few suggestions. I’ve been doing IT work full-time for the past 40 years. For about 30 of those years, I have been a woodworker, after a prefab computer desk fell apart when I set my tower on it. Back then, that 286 computer cost about $4000. So here goes. First, particleboard is inherently weak compared to plywood or solid wood. So instead of cutting back the critical support offered by the back panel of drawer, you could possibly raise the motherboard by inserting A three-quarter inch thick spacer on the bottom of the drawer. That would help with the clearance of the USB ports. Instead of another piece of particleboard, you could replace the back with something like a cheap pine board or even oak. Both of these would help stiffen the back panel, and help pull the drawer together. One nice thing about prefab furniture, is that the particleboard is really cheap and easy to cut. If you need more clearance, you could also cut into the bottom of the drawer above. That way you could fit the taller graphics card. To help with stability, you could also replace the drawer bottoms with plywood, which is stiffer and more structurally sound. The thing I like best about working with Wood, is that besides metal fasteners, water soluble wood glue is also practical option, and it’s just as structurally sound. Thank you for the terrific idea, it looks like no furniture around my house will be safe from these Frankenstein modifications, as I look to build more electronics into wooden enclosures?

Me, an intellectual: *puts PC in drawer*

You could add ventilation holes on the bottom of the drawer keeping the look intact, metal mesh + dust filter ( insect mesh, both cheap and easy to find). You could fix the dust problem, and maybe even oc the system. My god i wanna do it myself, i'm such a suker for DIY PC stuff..

Edit: insect mesh on top of the metal mesh to prevent shorts

Instead of buying a power button you can configure the bios to turn the system on when it's getting power and control this via your power strip. Would recommend one with a footswitch.

This video helped me realize I have a problem with spending money on computers.

Dawid's streaming rig is powered by a 2700x and a RTX2060.

I am in college and have a 3700x based rig with an RTX2080 all custom water cooled. And my personal server is a Strix B450 board with a R5 1600 and a GTX 1060.

Someone help me. Help my wallet. It is just a child.
