I like the metal hoses. Mine has survived the gardener, kids, a puppy and california sun. 6 years strong and still no leaks or kinks.

It certainly wasn't my Grandma's hose, as well, I'm 63. This is new to me really. I've burst several of your "Grandma's hoses" by being out in the sun. After 5 we stopped buying them. I like the idea of the shower-like one, as it won't melt in the sun.

The first 2 hoses will not last as long as the last 2. You would think the bionic hose would be tough but the only tough part about it in the metal casing. The actual hose inside the casing is not as strong as the 2 professional ones so you end up with a leaky hose that you can't repair because of the metal casing. I've used a flex zilla at work for the past 6 years and they are awesome. We even run coolant through it because it's hooked up to a surface grinder. Most hoses break down within a year or 2 when you have coolant running through them.
