The GOP Is Waging a War on Abortion Rights, But You Wouldn’t Know It If You Watched the RNC

The Washington Post reports the word “abortion” was not mentioned a single time from the stage during the first three days of the Republican National Convention. Reporter Amy Littlefield, abortion access correspondent at The Nation, says the silence from Trump and others at this week’s RNC in Milwaukee does not reflect a change in attitude from the Republican Party, which is still fiercely opposed to reproductive rights. “Republicans can read the polls. They know that abortion has triumphed in all seven instances where it’s been on the ballot since the Dobbs decision. They know that a rising number of people support abortion rights,” says Littlefield, who predicts that “abortion is going to have a huge impact on this election” and calls for “a Reproductive Justice New Deal.”

Mitch McConnel decided who was on the Supreme Court. Most likely, we'd have two liberal judges instead of two conservatives if it was not for him. Too much focus on the president, when the problem lies with Congress -- for this and many other issues.

Everyone should be shocked as to why we are arguing g about the aftermath of an unprotected sexual relation instead of teaching people to use condoms, or other contraceptive programs or these failed too? The slogan should be somewhere along the lines of" unzip...roll on!" This issue has gone on too far, the wrong way ...be responsible! Stop dividing society for any dumb excuse.

I get books mailed to me constantly. Thats how I receive them. That, and Capitol Hill Citizen newspaper. If those are seen as obscene, whos to say that they would allow, or unallow, those things to be delivered to my home? In regard to the Comstock Act of 1873

Most people do not realize that there are people with memories of being in the womb and of being born. They are very rare, but they are real. I am one of them. I am extremely grateful my mother did not abort me by having a doctor push a surgical tool through the soft spot on my head when I was being born. That is one way they do it. Oh, the womb is a wonderful place. There is no hot or no cold, just the humming in the head you hear when you cup your hands over your ears and a comfort that is beyond anything you will experience outside the womb. Being born is quite traumatic. Try an imagine a stuffy nose from hell times ten. That is what made me cry, which is the first muffled sound I heard. Being born was horrible, but that stuffy nose was gone almost as fast as it came and I immediately escaped this experience by willing myself to sleep, which is a power babies have. And no, I could not see a thing when I was born. My first sight was of my father and mother, as I lied between them on the front seat of a car. They seemed so far away. Babies inside the womb do feel. They may not know who or what they are, but their minds are reaching out into the blackness for anything. And they do feel anxiety. When that happens they will themselves to sleep. I remember. It felt like an eternity. Anyway, I am telling you this in hopes it may convince a mother to spare their baby.
