I didn't know about the side strakes, now I have another way to determine a 64.5/65 from a 66, thanks for the knowledge update Kiwi!

Back in the mid-1980s swap meets had piles of the Musting parts, rally gauges, the AC units, and GT lights none of it was crazy money but was all used take-off stuff. What was expensive even them was any of the OEM performance engine stuff, intakes air cleaners, and valve covers they brought real cash. So anytime I see these installed on a car today I always wonder if they were just added at one time or factory/dealer install. I guess it does not matter much but they are still cool nice to have options.

What timing Kiwi, I just got done with a 65 Mustang and shot a video on it. Thanks for sharing.

I've said many times that if you play with Fords you have to really know your stuff, unlike all the others.... because as silly as it seems, all those pieces actually go together and effect things you would have no idea of them effecting. That 4v or 2v sticker on the air cleaner changes a lot of things.... Great Video as always Kiwi !

I worked with a guy once that had a 65 convertible. He always complained of the steering, I believed it locked out 1.5 turns one way and 2 turns the other, and had trouble parking depending on which way you had to steer. He never did figure it out.

Somehow I get utg videos right away yours I get 4 days later. Either way I guess I have some catching up to do. Love to see some people still take pride in their work, too many out there to make a quick fast buck.

I didn't know they had both manual and power tops optional. Now I'm wondering what other cars over the years have offered both... very neat to learn!

Did I hear wrong, or did you call the first 2 "C" codes?

The codes on the door will tell you what the car was born with.

When these cars were being sold new. You could pick any single option in any combination. So it's rare to see 2 cars exactly the same. Unfortunately they stopped doing that. Now you can only get option packages. And you can't get a stripped down version at all. Even the cheapest, no option car has a bunch of nonsense that you don't want or need. I was born in the wrong era.

I'd call them all redheads, but that's just me.

Seeing a beautiful young blonde woman, driving a red convertible. You know God has to be a man.

Amazing...seems like every car that rolled off an American assembly line in the 60s was pretty much bespoke. How times have changed...

@03:54 - that GT's rear bumper spacing is... not good. ;-)

Hang on how can there be a C code 2 barrel and a C code 4 barrel, Shouldn't a 4 barrel be an A code
