Ornatrix Maya v4 | Performance Boost x3-121! - July build 4.2.1.34764

Показать описание
In this video, I demonstrate performance improvements in Ornatrix Maya v4 July Build - 4.2.1.34764.
The main enhancement focuses on the Freeze and stack collapsing features. The performance has increased threefold on 70 CVs, by 125 times on 30 CVs, and by 83 times on 10 CVs! Impressive, isn't it?
I didn't dwell on comparing the combing speed since it has already been improved. For example, in previous builds, it was 7-9 FPS on 70 points, while in the new build, it's now 23 FPS!
On the same 30 points, it was 30 FPS, and now it's 60 FPS. On the standard 10 points, it was 30 FPS, and now it's 60 FPS.
Yes, Maya often shows lower FPS, but the improvement is very noticeable, and the Freeze issue on brush strokes has been eliminated. Previously, when you released the brush, Maya would pause for a moment. That was annoying.

TIMING:
0:00 - TEST 1 on the old build. 70 CV - the exact amount needed for high-quality long hair and the standard 100K strands I usually test.
0:06 - I noticed that the Collapse speed is higher on the old build. So I decided to show the measurements as well. It's 3 seconds vs 1 second in the new build. A 3x improvement!
0:15 - Combing the hair shows a performance of 18 FPS.
0:22 - Releasing the mouse shows a Freeze that lasts 2 seconds vs 1 second in the new build. A 2x improvement!
0:26 - Another stroke shows 19 FPS, occasionally dropping to 18.
0:30 - Releasing the mouse again shows a Freeze that lasts 1 second 20ms vs 1 second 15ms in the new build. This is strange, maybe a glitch or a measurement error.
0:37 - New build.
0:48 - Collapsing the stack takes 1 second vs 3 seconds in the old build. A 3x improvement!
0:56 - Combing the hair shows 20-23 FPS. Better already.
1:00 - Releasing the mouse shows a Freeze of 1 second vs 2 seconds in the old build. A 2x improvement!
1:04 - Second stroke shows FPS = 20, occasionally dropping to 18. As I mentioned, not much change here since there were already improvements at this number of CVs. From 9 FPS =).
1:10 - However, the same Freeze is now 1 second 15ms vs 1 second 20ms in the old build. Strange, maybe a glitch or a measurement error.
1:16 - TEST 2. Now with 30 CV, which are more commonly used in most hairstyles during combing. The number of strands remains the same.
1:29 - Collapsing the stack takes 1 second 26ms vs...
1:35 - Combing shows 30-40 FPS.
1:39 - Releasing the mouse shows a Freeze of 1 second 08ms vs 8ms.
1:41 - Second stroke shows FPS = 30-33.
1:46 - Releasing the mouse shows a Freeze of 1 second 15ms vs...
2:00 - NEW BUILD. Collapsing the stack takes 11ms vs 1 second 26ms. A 92x improvement!
2:08 - Starting to comb. FPS = 51-60. A 2x improvement!
2:11 - Releasing the brush. Freeze = 8ms vs 1 second 08ms. A 125x improvement!
2:13 - Second stroke shows FPS = 46-51. A 53% improvement.
2:19 - TEST 3. Now with 10 CV, which is standard. By the way, using this amount for test strokes is not forbidden. Usually, short fur has much fewer CVs.
2:24 - Collapse Stack takes 13ms.
2:31 - Combing shows FPS = 40-55.
2:34 - Freeze = 1 second 02ms.
2:36 - Second stroke shows FPS = 18-33.
2:39 - Freeze = 1 second 10ms.
2:42 - NEW BUILD.
2:49 - Collapse = 28ms - somehow slower vs 13ms in the old build.
2:55 - First comb shows FPS = 50-58. A 13% improvement. As I mentioned, it's unlikely to be significant since there were already improvements. Even in old builds, 10 CV was fairly comfortable.
2:58 - Freeze = 14ms vs 1 second 02ms. A 70x improvement!
3:01 - Second comb shows FPS = 45-58. A 101% improvement.
3:03 - Freeze = 12ms vs 1 second 10ms. An 83x improvement!
