[OLD] How to Backup & Install PS3 Games on HAN | PKG Install for PS3Xploit v3

So you have a PS3, you just finished setting up HAN on it, now what? Time to install some games! This tutorial will guide you through the process of taking your PS3 game sourced from a Blu-ray disc, converting it to a compatible system PKG, resigning the package, and installing the game to your console. This assumes you have already installed HAN to your PS3 and have obtained your ACT and IDPS files, if not you will need to follow the tutorial linked further down below in the description which explains everything and will get you prepared to follow this tutorial.

Although plenty of games do work using this method, several other games will either require more complicated installs or will not work. The game being installed must have at least 1 patch available for it to be considered as a title you can install. On top of that, I've had several games work using this method while other games have given me errors or black screens. Due to this, I really do not recommend going with HAN and installing games like this if you have access to a CFW capable PS3. If this is your only option, be warned that you might not have a guaranteed success rate with your game installs.

HAN signed packages can be used on other consoles. the RIF file created from RAP will be specific though. for these game converts, they should work the same. always nice watching your vids :)

Works perfect for my Slim 3000B HFW, PS: if you Hold the PS button and not just press Once to Exit, , now choose exit from the menu, now its faster

If you're like me who already pre downloaded some updates (shoutout to GT6 for the 11gb update), just create a folder "patch" (all lowercase) and paste the patch files there. has to be consistent on what the cfw2ofw helper would search for otherwise you need to rename the patch files.

Everyone is going to want to stop at the pakage Linker part. Forget all that and just got to the HEN installation. Install HEN and the Multiman for HEN. Then just use Multiman's FTP server and Filezilla on your PC to upload all your games and packages to HDD0/GAMES or HDD0/packages folders.

Only thing stopping me is that I don't have a Blu-ray drive in my PC. I am going to look for an external one to solve that. I got too much invested to stop now. I just bought and installed a 500gb solid state drive. The PS3 can't really perform completely to a SSD'd potential, but it has drastically increased it's speed and performance. Anyway, I have modded many other game systems in past and what you have shown looks easy to follow. Thanks. I can't wait to see how my games run from a SSD. I've been watching your tutorials on jailbreaking the PS3 while I'm impatiently waiting on an external Blu-ray drive. I can't wait to start especially since my PS3's disk drive is making funny noises and probably is about to die. Thanks for providing simple to follow instructions. CFW20FW Helper v13 give an error like this BLES02127 is not compatible, but this could be untrue, because there was an error detected
i don't know what to do i need help

I'm pretty sure you get the "Could not delete" error because you ran the program as Administrator in a folder that the system doesn't own. Try it without the Admin access and see what happens. The file seems to come out fine without the need for Admin access.

FYI:
If you are using an antivirus, your antivirus might make a false positive and will quarantine makepkg1.exe so make sure to make it an exception so your av doesn’t do anything with it Q!!
