Block 3 in our Stash Buster Block series is called Squares Upon Squares. As the title indicates, the pattern looks like squares stacked upon each other. This 8 inch block uses 3 colors of fabric, a dark, a contrasting fabric, and a light fabric.
Written instructions for cutting and assembling this block as an 8" or 12" block can be found on my blog:

Now I have never done this block, love your navy print. I collecting different navy fabrics right now, thinking I personally want one for our bed in the main colours being navy and cream. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks for sharing.👍❤️😊

I love the simplicity with which you explain your piecing. Well done. I do have a question for you (maybe a later video?) I am drawn to creating and quilting "Panel" quilts. I see a beautiful panel and I buy it and some coordinating fabric and I'm off to the races. Your "border" designs have been a God-send. However, I find myself always trying to determine a quilting design for "sky" and "grass" without getting too complicated. Panels can often be a little "busy", so simplicity is often the key. And the panel NEVER has a plain space, so you're always quilting around tree leaves, or large stems or something. Any advice you can give for "sky" and "grass" would be greatly appreciated. As always, loving you to share your knowledge and passing it down for the next generation.
