In this video I'm taking care of the cottage garden flowers. A few of the roses and dahlias have pests and diseases I need to take care of and I also have some deadheading and pruning to do.

Leave the flower boxes the color they are.

Thanks for the “just above the 5 leaf branch” for deadheading roses. I have three, new David Austin roses this year and they are doing really well so far . I’m trying to do all that I can to keep them healthy.

If the window boxes are plastic, painting them sets you up into painting them forever as the paint often peels or puckers away or even fades fairly quickly.

Leave the boxes as is. Loving your flowers!

IMHO, leave them the same colour. They blend into your window frame, which enlarges the windows to the eye. The fun part will be the flower colours you get to choose year to year. I'm just starting to plant a cottage garden this year, but I'm mostly prepping a no dig garden in front of the house for next spring's major planting. 😊

I think the window boxes look great as they are!

The window boxes are a nice touch, and 60% off is bonus!
I'd leave them as they are. You can always paint later (but not teal) if you want or they fade and don't look good anymore.
Thornless berries are awesome!

I love everything and I think you can leave the window boxes as is. I love that natural barrel like look of them. I think it's a great match to the cottage itself. For me the natural look of things as they are in nature is gives more of that beautiful country cottage look. Reminds me of thatch houses in Ireland. Many of those have red doors if you search "natural thatch houses in Ireland". Thanks for another great informative vid Brian! Have an awesome day!

I would leave the color of the boxes It’s a good contrast plus the greenery will really pop against the darker color. Your cottage garden is looking so pretty. Thank you for the video Blessing ❤️🌺

They look great as is maybe try that first and then when you get tired of it, you can change it.

Hi Brian, I would say leave them as is or paint them the trim color. Great video 🤗❤️

I started to melt at your first image of the purple flowers! My stress level thanks you! IMO, the flower boxes would make a nice contrast left as is, a bit darker than the painted boards, as an accent. Many thanks and cheers!

Leave them the color they are and have the flowers you plant in them have the burst of color!

Great job on the cottage so far, I love it! I’d leave the window boxes as is, I think it would bring a nice contrast.

Leave the window boxes the same color. They're dark and blend in with the trim color and will allow the colors of the flowers to shine through.
I do have a concern with the size of the planters. The two smaller windows look ok, but the planter for the large window to the right doesn't look in proportion to the window and it causes it to look 'off' from the other 2 windows.

Looking beautiful! The window boxes- I would leave them as is. They looked like they belonged when you put them under the windows. And I bet you plan to put flowers in them that will spill over them. Flowers would fade out against teal.

Looking fabulous! It all is coming together beautifully. You have a great eye....and have been working hard. The window boxes will be a great addition. I lean toward leaving the color as is. Will blend in fine and make the plants pop more. Thamks for sharing and teaching!
