Much more distressing and dark than the other music video. This one, in my opinion, illustrates the song perfectly

this version was the introduction to coldplay to most people, i don´t like they current pop work but the first albums are great.

Creo que la mayoría está de acuerdo que esta versión para UK es mucho mejor que la que recibió el resto de países. Hace un gran contraste con la letra y captura ese ambiente oscuro.

I first had this song when i was at a very dark and low point in my life. My parents were on the verge of a divorce and were both leaning on me for emotional support, i had become disillusioned with my university studies (and life in general), and I had lost the first love of my life. I felt lost and in a lot of pain, which later led to a depression.

Many people criticized me for listening to this and other Coldplay songs claiming that they were only "furthering my sadness". But this was far from it - Coldplay spoke the pains that i had in my heart that i couldn't find the words to express- they allowed me to voice my vulnerability, my angst, my anxiety, my pain and sadness and get them off my chest and just be...

Coldplay helped show me that i could share the sadness with others so that they would understand and it didn't have to be messy or pitiful, but could be deep, haunting and profound...and maybe, in that way, also encourage others to share the sadness in their hearts, be honest with themselves, get it off their chests and be unshackled.

I started writing poetry and being precise about my feelings through my words.

Coldplay helped me save myself.

Drowning in despair isn't always what kills us - it's being unable to find the words and to share what we're going through and ask for help from the those around us.
The inability to say, "Please help me... I'm drowning and I don't know what to do..."; is what really kills us.

this version I'll admit it a bit darker but I honestly like both versions. but I swear, Chris makes me want to jump through the screen and help him lol. this song always gets me emotional and I love singing it. I love now the lyrics conclude what's going on towards the end. and when he starts singing " They've spun a web for me..." I ALWAYS get chills. Coldplay is still one of my favorite bands of all time. Their old stuff was IT.

I loved his shaved head days. Reminds me Trainspotting or Minor Threat or something.

One of the saddest songs ever. I believe it's about doing something wrong and regretting it.

The best thing the band ever did, in the days when popular music still had some depth...
