WHAT IS A GREEN INTRACOASTAL MARKER?

This is an intracoastal marker. These are four things you need to know about it.

1. This channel marker outlines a channel of safe passage

2. The Green Day shape is a square. It’s a shaped in a square so colorblind folks can read it. The opposite is a red triangle

3. The number on greens are always odd and they count up. As you move in from seaward and clockwise along the coast, starts over at the next inlet.

4. The yellow sticker means that it is an intracoastal marker. Generally yellow means special, in this case the yellow sticker means this marker is an ICW mark. The shape of the yellow sticker will either be square or triangle. Yellow squares will be kept to the left as you proceed down the conventional direction of buoyage (clockwise along the US coast).
