“Listen Before I Go” cuts me to my core. It’s like listening to my dark place. More Billie please!

My favorite song by Billie. I love this version but you would’ve gotten the bigger picture if you saw the video version. She is singing to herself in a mirror throughout the whole video. It’s all about her relationship with herself.

Didn’t realise how cathartic it would be listening to someone, especially a psychotherapist, look into songs and talk about the meaning of their lyrics. I feel like I’m indirectly being given great advice that if I actually use will make life a little better. I’ve been having the worst day today and this has been really great. I wish I lived in the US so I could have you as a therapist! Anyway great content as usual and thank you for doing what you’re doing! 💚

She was my favorite female artist years back, she still is one. But the words hit a lot harder when you’re the only one that understood them

I'm a new Billie fan. Thank you for interpreting this song. And I also read some of the comments.
This song really does hit home...as I'm sure it does for a lot of people. I keep thinking how sometimes you just wish you could break up with yourself.
It also makes me think of Pink's song "Don't Let Me Get Me" which is very relatable in this aspect, also.

Billie came on to my radar a couple years ago and her music is extremely therapeutic 😌 has helped me many a night find inner peace from ptsd symptoms.

Almost 100K - and you've earned every single sub, sir. Your empathy, your honestly, and how much you enjoy the music itself, really make the channel. Thanks so much for sharing.

How about a reaction for us Olde Folke out here on the Internet? Would love to see your take on Johnny Cash's cover of the Nine Inch Nails song "Hurt". Or even a double - watch Trent Reznor's performance of the song as a 25-yr-old man overwhelmed by the life he suddenly finds himself in, and then watch Johnny take the same words, the same music, and make it about an old man looking back with regret on his life's mistakes. Would love to see it!

The official video would have been very helpful with this one. She’s talking to herself in the mirror the whole time. Every word was to herself. You can always watch the official video and turn on the captions. ;-)

Love your reactions. I don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but I think her history with dancing is important to this song. Billie grew up as a dancer and it was everything to her but a hip injury ended her dancing career. Billie has talked about that putting her in a really dark place. If you have seen her documentary you'll see she still struggles a lot with her physical injuries. I think this song definitely includes a reference to that struggle and the frustration of not being able to do what she loved because her body just won't let her. It's amazing to see how see has grown and evolved since this came out.

You should watch the "Genius" version of this song where she discusses the meaning of the song while singing it. Really amazing.

Love all your Billie reactions! Did you film your reaction to The World's A Little Blurry? Would love to see that, maybe on Patreon?

Billie is also an album artist. It would be awesome to see a full album length reaction, especially for the Happier Than Ever album!!
