After watching you speedrun, I tried using franklins ability like this, and I was surprised just how little you need to activate it to see a huge improvement in cornering speed. Also using it when you go off of ramps maintains your speed better and you can launch yourself crazy distances

I always tapped it on and off because I'm an NFSMW player so I subconsciously think keeping the "ability" (called Speedbreaker in NFSMW) on would result in a speed penalty.

This is because Speedbreaker in NFSMW makes the car heavier while also increasing the grip of the car. Heavier car gripping even a slight incline will have it acrape the ground and slow down.
