In this video series, I hope to explain everything that you need to know about building a hackintosh. Throughout this series, I take you from the beginning stages of planning and researching, all the way to having Mac OS X fully running on your PC!

In part 3 of the series, I talk about some key terms and concepts that you need to know before installing OS X to your PC. The better you know these terms, the easier this process will be for you and the less issues you'll have!

More questions? Check me out on Twitter: @cpukid

Also be sure to check out the TonyMacx86 forums. This process wouldn't be possible without TonyMac and his community!

@Christian Sipes Thanks for the kind words! I would honestly wait for Ivy Bridge to be fully supported. With that said, there are a lot of 1155 motherboards that would be a great starting point.

@toqi786 I know there's an app you use to do it, but I personally have never done it. You can ask around on the TonyMac forum.

@wiigamer136 Thanks for clearing that up for me. I wasn't quite sure. There are some things that require a DSDT, though.

Your knowledge based on your research is quite impressive. That is the kind of quality that will be useful when you actually work in a company. I'm very sure you will do well.

Quick question: I found the DSDT section on the TonyMac site, but my specific motherboard isn't listed. it's a EVGA x58 E768. It looks like the E764 is listed though. Not sure what to do, very noob.

Bob, i cannot find DSDT for my motherboard. I tried to search but no results. My motherboard is Acer Predator G5900 (i know its name of computer) but it what CPU-Z and HWINFO tells me. I found DSDT Editor but i cannot find patch so it doesnt help me too. And year ago I had OSX (Snow Leo) installed and i have old DSDT (but its old and it didnt worked well). What should i do? Where i can find DSDT for my computer. Thanks

@MrNinjaboy100 Definitely. There's no real risk involved as long as you back up everything that you don't want to lose.

FYI the DSDT database is a bit outdated in asus p67 side becase there ire DSDT files for sabertooth deluxe and pro
in fact i am using one right now for sabertooth motherboard P67 and it is not in the data base
SO DO YOUR RESEARCH ON EVERY PART YOU ARE PLANING TO BUY

hmmm will my new gtx 670 work? I didn't find anything. You said osx 10 will recognize everything once I download the dsdt for z77 chipset I have. So then I wont need the nvenabler.kext?

@MrNinjaboy100 It's "frowned upon" by Apple, but not illegal.
