I remember seeing Deftones at 97 warped tour and it was windy and his hair was all over the place. I was just blown away by the entire show.

Rip chi, I’m 22 and deftones has become one of my favourite bands of all time, especially their older stuff like atound the fur and WP. This guy truly made an impact on metal forever.

I've listened to these guys since I was in middle school. Super random connection but when my Aunt found out I was a fan she told me her sister dated Chi (during college at Sac State IIRC). She said they would hear him playing the bassline for Money by Pink Floyd often enough to mention it. I never found out if that was all true but the times and places line up. It's such a shame he passed on so young. Deftones are legendary and have influenced more than a few bands over the years. Rest in peace, Chi.

I've been a fan of Deftones since 1997 when Around the Fur was released, I was 13. It still hurts to think of how they lost Chi, their friend and an amazing musician. Thank you for highlighting his story.❤

I remember I was 17 waiting outside the theater for the band.. chi baby was brand new.. as he walked by he was sincere and apologetic to the fact he wasn't gonna sign anything cause he wanted to rush to his new baby and
We were all understanding and congratulated him.. he was an awesome guy....
This was about 25 years ago...
Was the best night of my young life and he added to it....

I saw Deftones in 1998 in France on the "Around the fur" tour and met the band before in a signing session. He was the kindest of all in the band, and his death still moves all these years later..

We've rode with you since adrenaline and it remains a pleasure. This was one celebrity passing that hurt alot, but they got me thru the hardest times of my younger life. Saw em about a year ago in daytona and....I'm not...I'm not crying..you're crying *wipes eyes*

Seen Deftones at rockam ring in 06 i think it was & they blew me away, proper proper mega band 👌👌🎸🎸🎶🎶🎵🎵 R.I.P. Chi, we still have the music, you will never be forgotten 💔💔❤️❤️
