I sincerely hope that the developers and studios watch your videos, you are starting to have influence and become a reference in terms of testing and adjustments!

Yes, make a video for every patch like you did for horizon. I am certain it was because of you that they fixed it because digital foundry didn’t even bother covering those issues with horizon.
Keep up the good work brother.

This is why in last 2 years I don't buy games till 6 months after release. Yes I'm dying to play this and hogwarts for that matter. But they always release un-optimised and a ridiculous price at launch. I find u get the full intended experience and pay closer to what your pocket likes. Just the state of gaming now unfortunately. Homie don't play that anymore

Why is no one else complaining about this on PS5?!?? I’m holding off on playing it until it gets fixed. I’m playing on an LG C1 and the blurry textures and shimmering are awful! It look’s just like HFW looked in performance mode when it first released. I’m so angry because this is my most anticipated game ever and the picture looks so bad and ruining the experience…

The controller issue on XSX has stopped me from buying day one. They better fix it ASAP

There’s stuttering on PS5 too even in Performance mode with everything turned off. It may be traversal stutter because it seems repeatable.

Seems like deactivating chromatic aberration improves the image quality on PS5. But i can't confirm it for myself right now.

Isn't the deadzone problem on Xbox like all over the place? I don't get why they keep doing this in games? Why not always have options to fix it? If not developers adds the option of deadzones Microsoft should really give us regular controller users the option on a system level. I don't think that would hurt the sales of Elite controllers. 😫

I would say most of the time the image looks great but fine detail areas like foliage look blurry for sure, definitely a Horizon situation

Most of the time I prefer to wait for further patch fixes to fully preserve the enjoyability of titles (see Horizon). But this is not always the case.

You are right! But in my experience turning off chromatic aberration already made such a huge difference, where before I was disappointed with how muddy it looked and now it already looks 10 times crisper.

This Kind of Problems should always hear the developers. I waited 4-5 month to finish Horizon with the good looking Patch. Why do i have to wait for a Patch that make the game Looks as it should be from Release?

This game needed more polish. Its performance and image quality is a mixed bag depending on the system you use. It's pretty lacking for a game like Resident Evil 4. It feels rushed to release.

Bigger deadzone can also mean no stick drifts. But i really think it needs a changable deadzone also in the console menu as overall for PS5 and Xbox Series (to avoid stick drifts). I mean even the Nintendo Switch has a stick menu to set the deadzone (not perfectly, but better than nothing). But deadzone settings would be also an option for RE in general.

I don't comprehend how this game received a 10 by big name reviewers like IGN and GameSpot. Either Capcom paid them under the table to rate it a 10 or they gave it a 10 just because it's a capcom game. This game had many flaws in the areas regarding graphic, gameplay, and narrative. It wasn't prepared for release.

Even to this day, the dead zone issues on Xbox Series X persist. I had sunk into a comfort zone initially where I was able to look beyond the dead zone issues, but after buying a Steam Deck and subsequently playing the same game on the Steam Deck, I began to notice the dead zone issues again when I resumed my gameplay on the Series X. No amount of fiddling with the options seems to correct the matter. A separate problem I have is related to audio, and I will explain this in detail.

I have a somewhat sophisticated (complex is maybe the right word) surround sound system at home. I have an audio/video receiver, a subwoofer, and wall mounted speakers. My HDMI is parsed through my audio/video receiver directly to a Harman Kardon, which is like an elaborate audio and video receiver, like way more elaborate than a DVDO is. I think there's another term for this, but I can't for the life of me remember what it is. Anyway, the Harmon Kardon has a variety of compatible selections, among them being able to support DTS, Dolby Digital, and stuff like that. The Xbox Series X was able to identify that my sound system is most compatible with Dolby Digital, which is what I am currently using.

The problem now, is that RE4R through Dolby Digital has incredibly hushed voice audio, more so than ambient effects and other sound effects such as explosions and gun shots. I fiddled with speaker orientation, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Raising the volume doesn't really assist in this, although the Merchant sounds just fine. I don't get it. I'm certain I could mitigate this issue with headphones, but an elaborate system like mine deserves to be heard in all its function. Audio through Dolby Digital definitely sounds better and is more immersive (doors closing behind Leon come from the back speakers; Ashley speaking behind Leon also comes from the back speakers, but Leon's voice sounds so quiet, like he's whispering all the time.) I have the game set to Home Theatre because that best matches my set up, but there's no option to adjust range (middle, medium, night, small, or large.) My audio isn't coming from my TV, so I'm stuck with Home Theatre and Headphone, the latter of which I only use if I am playing on the Steam Deck.

Separately, do you have any ideas about why the 3D audio is greyed out on consoles for this game? RE2R and RE3R didn't have this restriction.

I noticed the shimmering and bad image quality even in the demo version and thought it just looked off… I’m sure they can patch this, as I think it is a bug with their chequerboard rendering to produce that 4K image, but it’s a shame we don’t get games release without needing patches in the first place. Really hope Capcom are looking at the issue and are working on a fix. Thank you for highlighting the issue.

Texture pop-in is pretty distracting, too. It often loads in relatively slow and takes time to change from low -> high quality. Wtf.

They also need to fix the low performance at some areas on all consoles.

I really hope you continue to make videos each patch. This is a remake of one of the best games ever made and it really deserves better than this. The game could look a lot better and too many people are letting it slide because it's Capcom.

Keep up the great work!
