Since Skyrim and F4 can be played for years im hoping Starfield follows suit and keeps us calm until ES6. 2020 release would take advantage of new console releases but Todd said its the most epic syfy thing we could imagine than 2021 might be better for his dream project.

Well it would coincide with a what-would-be E3 announcement. Searching for articles about when Bethesda said they wouldn't be at E3 - April. Then Pete Hines said this:
"Given the many challenges we're facing due to the pandemic, we will not host a digital Showcase in June. We have lots of exciting things to share about our games and look forward to telling you more in the coming months."
So no digital showcase - a la Nintendo Direct, but they will be telling us about future games. HOWEVER, it looks to be having a digital showcase on Sony games around that time. Could we see it as a title included in that State of Play? Would they do that?

I think it is possible for Starfield to release in 2020. But my gut feeling is that Starfield will be 2021 game at the earliest if not a 2022 game.

My money is on a reveal this summer, followed by a Spring 2021 release. I know lately they have had a pattern of fall releases, but both Morrowind and Oblivion were spring releases.
