Oddly enough I ended up ordering, this exact one from aliexpress. And wasnt sure if I was trying it out correctly, and then I found your video, which was quite helpful.

Weird the air continued to spray from the brush, that's not typical.

If you feel like doing modifications to allow more paint for a short time. Try attaching it to a large soda bottle and a hose from the bottle to the airbrush give it a storage tank. Soda is about 40-55 psi at room temperature, so the bottle can handle the compressor.

Yes, base coats were what I was thinking of in regards to these hand held compressors. I have a 25 litre tank that I fill free at a local gas station but I am getting so ancient I can't always make it up the hill to fill the tank with air.
Don't get old. These are not the "golden years" but rather the high lead content pewter years with a gold plating exactly one atom deep.

From my understanding with these portable versions is that you can actually attach a rather better airbrush to it and it'll work, like an iwata airbrush

I just bought the same one from Temu, I think it was £15. I only got it to paint one model but for the price, it doesn't really matter if it only lasts long enough to do just that. It feels quite nice and solid actually, better quality than I imagined it would be. I haven't used it with paint yet, but I'm looking forward to the experience!

I have 2 of these. There is of course a pretty steep learning curve when you start out. But they are excellent for basing and Z highlighting. Also if you want to save a fortune. Buy your primer rattlecans and decant and de-gas the paint before you use it the savings on non wasted paint from 2 r.cans alone will pay for the airbrush within a few weeks!!

This things do work - i started from similar one. Problem with them is that you have only (in my case) 2 pressure options - "low" and "high". Also - battery live limits for how long you can paint. Switched to the JAS 1113 airbrush and 1211 compressor. Still this portable airbrush is good place to start and to work out do you even like airbrushing.

The one of these I have, from somewhere or other, has been as an inexpensive learning tool. Hasn’t blown up yet 😄

I have the same one as you bought from temu and it’s not all plastic it’s full metal and yes I’ve used it on my Gundam model and it work just fine downside is since it runs on battery the amount of time is not a lot but as you said just turn it off to save a bit of power

Using a similar air compressor for over a year now with an Iwata airbrush for everything - priming, base coats, skin. Tried it with metallics, varnishes, thick and thin paints. Painting both minis and large statues. One broke after a about a year of use, so I bought a couple more. They're cheap, quiet and take up no space. If you don't have a large air compressor yet and space is at a premium in your workshop - just use these. Not the airbrush though - that you can throw away.

I bought one a couple of months ago. You can't use the airbrush as a regular one as it's not just missing the air valve, but they even closed off with a metal plug the tube leading to it (and the plunger is almost missing it's 'tail', although I've not checked, as there's not enough room with the plug to the air valve tube)

I bought one of these specifically for a stencil project that I have in mind. It hasn't arrived yet.

I have 2 of these units 1 from Amazon the other from a kit. Both have been nothing but trouble!
I wanted to do as you said use them for practice so as to not ruin a good airbrush.
both mine say they spray at 30psi... Yeah right!
both of them after the 3rd - 4th cleaning the orings and small bits started malfunctioning. Also very hard to get new parts for them.
I just purchased a small compressor, good $$.
I am not game to put a good airbrush on those hand held compressors

I just got this. It has three pressure levels. It does seem to go backwards, the first push of the button after initially turning it on is"high#, the next is a bit low, and the last lower still. I have never used one, so here it goes.

You should give us an affiliate link in your description or something. I need one like this for my current living situation, and am having a dickens of a time locating what you are using.

Hello, I saw this thing on Aliexpress and I was thinking if I can paint small scratches on my car with it, do you think it could work? Can I put car paint in it? Like the one they sell in auto part stores? Thanks for your video, I also do some canvas painting sometimes
