Jean-Marc Vallée returns to French-language filmmaking with this powerful and unconventional love story that weaves together two disparate narratives to create a tale of emotion and destiny. The stories center on a devoted mother (Vanessa Paradis) of a young boy with Down syndrome in 1969 Paris, and a successful DJ (Kevin Parent) who is going through an emotional divorce in present-day Montreal.

I was blown away by this film. There is a bit of all of us in this film. The uncertainty of life and the belief of true love. I just adored it. If you have ever experienced true love this is the film for you.

Sometimes I watch this movie just to be able to feel something again... What a beautiful brief little window into LIFE and the roller coaster of emotion it entails.

The purest form of love is letting go. One of the most beautiful films I have ever seen.

It is true you have to let go of people that are not meant to be in your life romatically any longer. But this movie seems innacurate to some degree since the new relationship with the blond seemed to be all based on sex which you can get from anyone not your soulmate. The memories, truely knowing a person and being who you want to be around them and support each other when times are rough is real love, that's what love really is. You don't get that from just anyone.

How do you silence your soul, fire, love and passion after you meet the person unlike none before or after? As a married people our/my life was on its own course and then our paths crossed.

My life forever changed. Did we meet each other in a previous life, will we meet again in another life.

Both stayed put to not hurt others. five years later we both still dream of a life together.

We fully understand what he says about fucking yup.

If you want to leave your wife, leave your wife. No need to make an entire movie to justify your actions. If I met Evelyne Brochu I'd do the same, but I wouldn't diguise my actions with all this metaphysical BS.

Disgusting movie on so many levels. Can't even imagine how horrible it must be for a woman to live with the realization that she married her own son (ok, so in a different life time) and had his children. Eeew!!! I wish there was some way I could unsee this movie. And the way in which people with Down's Syndrome is described (mongoloid/monster) is terribly insensitive & racist!
