When you’ve lived (and dressed) during a specific timeframe, the last thing you want is to wear the trends again. My mum wore some huge shoulder pads and very wide belts and my friends and I loved and copied Madonna’s look.

The large gold belt is not too practical if you need to bend over or sit down…it would dig into your ribs..it’s obviously just for looks.
