•EPIC• Time Saver in Photoshop CC - Actions

Do you have redundant tasks in your workflow in Photoshop? I know I do and thank goodness for actions!

This topic was the first video I ever recorded for my YouTube Channel in 2011, wow, 11 years on YouTube. That video had potential, but it was also horribly recorded and the audio was a bust. Hey, we learn as we go and we grow right?

I figured why not remake that video in light of the f64 YouTube channel's birthday. Fun Fact, back then it was called EverydayHDR, can you guess why? lol!

How long have you been a subscriber! Show us some love if you saw my first video back in 2011!

Who can believe there was a time when we were on our own without our PS sensei? Luckily for us, he found his passion and taught us all how to be better and more efficient photographers.. And don't let him fool you, he has engineering skills - you don't get this excited by creating an action if you're not an engineer at heart. Congratulation Sensei!

I remember watching your videos back then and thinking how clever you were. Now all these years on I don't 'think' anymore I 'know' how clever you are and thank you so much for sharing your incredible knowledge.

Happy YT Birthday! When I first started watching Everyday HDR years ago, I had no clue about actions. If I saw this video, I probably just shook my head and moved on. Thanks to years of your tutelage, especially through f64 Elite, guess what -I GET IT!
Thanks, Blake.

I've been a subscriber and F64 member for a long, long time, Blake. I found you first back in the HDR days (which were not to my taste, TBH) and found you to be a very good communicator and teacher. How you remember all this stuff is beyond me. Most of what I have learned from you I have forgotten - lol. Happy belated birthday and keep up the good work, Mate.

I love you with all my heart! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ No for real, I have honestly been using Photoshop for 10 years, done 112 weddings seen loads of your vids but for whatever reason when I searched for automation I never found it. My next wedding is Saturday! You have just saved me hours! Literally days over the summer I know have!

Happy 11th YouTube Birthday! I didn't join the fun until several years later. I have to say I greatly appreciate lack of nose-wind in all your current and new stuff 🙃😂

🎈Happy B-day f.64. The Half Dome's picture definitely hits the spot (a nice reference to Group f.64).

Happy birthday f64! I discovered your channel during the first lockdown and spent much of it going back through your archives... and learning a VERY great deal from them. But almost as much as what I learn, I love your enthusiasm. An enthusiasm boost is something everyone needs from time to time and I now know where to come to find it. Thanks for all your hard work.

I recall watching a few everydayhdr videos and the tutorial re: 5 ways Blend-if will blow your mind plus a few early videos on color grading. Also, watched you grow or improve your presentation skills over the past few years. I watched the original Actions video a few minutes ago thinking Blake's challenging us again; he'll want us to find old images to to reprocess. Congratulations on 11 years!

Congrats! Have a channel for so long, it must be quite challenge! Well, I just can't remember for how long I'm following this one!

Happy Anniversary! Your videos are the best. I really enjoyed the 1st two sessions of your Vision Summit & can't wait to hear about your new course next week. Cheers for a lovely weekend!

I was deleting an Action and starting again to modify/edit it. After watching your video I can now change or modify an existing Action without having to start again. Thank you Blake. Also thoroughly enjoying the Vision Summit and looking forward to the release of your new course.

Congrats on the birthday! I first found one of your videos because you are seriously one of the best out there when it comes to talking about color, gradients, etc. You are really good at this.

One of the best things about running recorded/edited macros is that the computer doesn't get distracted or tired and start making goofy mistakes like humans do. Even stringing together a series of the seemingly most mundane tasks into an Action is worth it just to take the potential human error out of it. I couldn't imagine Photoshop without all of the actions I've made. I guess the most famous, for all of us, is an action with all of the steps to create 18-21 luminosity mask channels.... could you imagine doing that from scratch each time?!

Or the second most famous, creating the frequency separation layers for skin retouching.

Continued success!
