Are booster shots safe and effective? Do we really need one? Who are the people who may need them? Can we mix vaccines?
We talk to Assoc Prof Dr Tan Toh Leong, an emergency physician at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (UKM) to find out more.

Insufficient supply of Sinovac and oversupply of Pfizer vaccines is not a good excuse to deprive those who prefer Sinovac as a 3rd dose. Since the authority are fully aware of what they purchased and in what quantity, there is no excuse to said there is shortage of any particular vaccine. Moreover, the recipient should be given the vaccine of their choice - one that they are comfortable with.

Data from Turkey is all three dose are Sinovac. The result is good.

Why don't we have Sinovac as the booster shot instead of Pfizer ?

I don't mind to get a vaccine every 6 months or so as long as it does not give me long term side effects, thats why I am sticking to Sinovac.

Bro doc ! All that you and all your colleagues around the world have to offer regarding "vaccines or booster vaccines or vaccine programme " are not the slightest bit convincing at all, let alone mandates, lockdown and face mask ! All these pure simple plain basic common sense stuff.

The booster shot rate will be lower, some reasons being :-
1) Assignment system instead of self appointment system. As people who already got 2 doses don't feel the urgency in getting the 3rd one. Moreover at a time inconvenience to them.
2) It's absurd to assign both principal & dependent with different schedule and location. Means the principals who often are busy adults will need to go 2 times for their dependents and themselves.

So now we go for 3rd dose. When the virus evolves again how confident is the government that we wont see a 4th, 5th and more? What risk to the human body if we take doses every 6 months and 1 year continuously?

So our malaysian expert don't do our own study except to rely on data by the west.
