For a long time, in movies, TV shows, and literature, a notion has been perpetuated that Ravan abducted Goddess Sita out of his primal instincts, being swayed by her mere appearance and personality. I find it absolutely ridiculous that such a wise, learned man of great powers and strengths would make such a silly mistake. It must be something more than that, for he sounds like a person who is way beyond such simple pursuits. It seems what Ravan was more interested in, was to prove and reinforce the belief that he can obtain anything he wants, and that there's nothing he can't control and conquer. The fact that Sita was Lord Ram's wife made her an even lucrative subject to prove his supremacy over Vishnu's avatar. His end was, like many other powerful men, because of a never ending desire to be ever more powerful, and to establish an unquestionable supremacy over everything and everyone else.

I love how the villain is so three dimensional. Like Ravan on the whole, is intelligent, respectful and skilled. When he captures Seetha, he does nothing to her except keeping her in captivity, waiting for her consent. I love how they have developed him, and how he is not a stereotype what so ever
