Congratulations to both Mr. Zalai and Mr. Balog for a refreshing, delightful performance of Ravel's Tzigane. I enjoyed this highly lyrical interpretation, seasoned with the right amount of Hungarian paprika to give it a zesty "cigány" flavor, but without the unnecessary roughness you sometimes hear in other versions. I admire Mr. Zalai's consummate mastery of the violin, his great artistry, and his self-effacing style. Like Oscar Shumsky, Aaron Rosand, and David Nadien, Mr. Zalai is a violinist's violinist. The sad truth is that the best violinists in the world are not always the most famous. Nevertheless, a big bravo to both of you!!
