Off Grid in the Autumn Mountains

Life deep in the forest, soaking in the season and living slowly before winter's arrival. Simple peak fall days spent in my cabin, off-grid garden and the surrounding woods.

Golden milk is a milk of your choice (I made fresh oat milk) blended with spices like turmeric, black pepper, clove, star anise and cinnamon. I added a splash of organic vanilla extract. Delicious with some honey or real maple syrup as well!

A lot of beneficial insects over-winter in the dead bramble in your garden. To provide them with winter shelter, it’s a good idea to wait and clear out the garden in the spring if at all possible. Another plus the is that the leaves will break down somewhat and help feed your soil. Love the peaceful atmosphere in this vlog 🍁🙂

maybe for the pine needles you could make a dome cover made of wire with smaller holes in it that you can the on and off so the leaves and pine needles don't go through? we do that for ours and it works pretty well :)

Suggestion: You want to hang your culinary herb bundles upside down in a dry, dark, well ventilated place. The sunlight coming from the window will diminish the color, fragrance, and flavor of your herbs.

That needles and leaves are free mulch just leave them it’s natures way of keeping the moisture in the ground and they will break down or blow away
