Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippines imo are the 3 MVP of ASEAN when it comes to military experience. ID fought against Imperial Japan, Mongol Empire and the British in the past, VN fought the US and China at one point, while PH have experience fighting against the USSR.

ASEAN as a whole are definitely strong, but I can't really think of big names countries the other ASEAN countries fought compared to these three so far

They confronted 4/5 permanent members of the United Nations Security Council. Which country has more experience than that?
